Join the Future Hitmakers Staff
A week inside the music industry takes a remarkable team to pull off. If you love music, love working with young people, and want to be part of something that matters — keep reading.
Why Work at FHA?
Future Hitmakers Academy isn't just a summer program — it's a week-long immersive experience that gives high school students a real, unfiltered look at how the music industry works. And none of that is possible without an exceptional team of adults who show up every single day ready to lead, inspire, and hold it all together.
Our staff members aren't just chaperones. They are mentors, facilitators, role models, and the steady presence that makes students feel safe enough to take risks, ask hard questions, and grow in ways they didn't expect.
If you have a passion for music, a heart for young people, and the energy to give a full week everything you've got — we want to hear from you.
The Student Life Mentor works as a direct partner to a Student Life Coordinator, supporting the day-to-day experience of a group of approximately 12 students. Think of this role as a Coordinator-in-training — you'll gain hands-on experience running a residential youth program while working alongside a more experienced lead.
You'll assist with facilitating group activities, supporting students during sessions and meals, helping manage the evening experiences, and being a consistent, positive presence throughout the week. You're the co-pilot — always present, always engaged, always ready to step in where needed.
This is a fantastic opportunity for current college students who are interested in education, youth development, the music industry, or residential program work. Many of our best Coordinators started as Mentors. This is how you learn the ropes.
Like all staff, Mentors are expected to remain on-site for the duration of the program. This is a fully residential role — no commuting in and out during the week.
- Must be 18 or older — high school students are not eligible; you must be currently enrolled in college or older
- Background check required — all offers are contingent on a clean background check prior to the program
- Fingerprinting required — must be completed prior to the program start date
- Child Abuse Awareness & Prevention Training required — provided by Future Hitmakers Academy prior to the program. All staff must complete this training before working with students.
- Must remain on-site for the full program — residential role; no leaving during the program week
- Current college students welcome — this role is a great fit for undergraduates looking for meaningful summer experience in youth programming or the music industry
- Experience with teens or youth — previous babysitting, tutoring, coaching, youth ministry, camp, or volunteer work with young people is preferred
- Interest in the music industry — you don't need professional experience, but you should be curious and enthusiastic about what students are learning
- Energy, patience, and a positive attitude — working with teenagers in an immersive environment requires all three, in equal measure, every single day
Great Entry Point: The Student Life Mentor role is designed as an entry-level position for those who are newer to residential youth programming. Many of our Mentors go on to become Coordinators. If you're passionate about making a difference and ready to give a full week everything you have — this role is for you.
What to Expect as a Staff Member
Full Week Commitment
Staff arrive before students for a mandatory orientation and depart after students leave on Friday. The program runs Sunday afternoon through Friday afternoon.
Long Days
Program days are full — early breakfasts, packed sessions, evening events, and nightly room checks. This is rewarding work, and it is genuinely demanding. Come ready.
Residential On-Site
All staff live on-site with students for the full week. Staff rooms are located among student rooms. You are a residential advisor as much as you are a program facilitator.
Incredible Experiences
You'll attend the same evening events as students — live music at iconic venues, dinners at great spots, and unforgettable industry experiences. All on us.
Work Alongside a Team
Coordinators and Mentors are paired together and supported by FHA program leadership. You are never alone — and communication is constant throughout the week.
Make a Real Impact
For many of our students, this week is a turning point. The staff who show up fully — who are present, encouraging, and consistent — are the ones students remember for years.
